Many people struggling with hunger in Georgetown County have turned to Helping Hands of Georgetown for assistance. In 2024, we assisted over 1500 households with food – and the need continues to grow with the rising costs of groceries.
When neighbors come to us for help, we provide items for three meals a day for three days based on their household size. To do this, we need the ongoing support of our wonderful community. How? You can simply donate items to stock in our warehouse and food pantry, also called “Gloria’s Place. Your generosity enables us to share Christ’s love in action with hurting people in our community.
Listed below are some suggested non-perishable items needed for our warehouse/food pantry:
Dried beans – Lima Beans, Pinto Beans, Great Northern Beans canned meats – chicken, tuna, salmon canned fruits, applesauce, fruit juices canned vegetables/green beans macaroni and cheese boxes canned Chef Boyardee type items canned soup peanut butter/jelly grits, oatmeal, cereals boxed potatoes, canned potatoes rice, pasta noodles spaghetti sauce/canned tomatoes
