Dear Friends,

Georgetown County Career Connections known as GC3 is now in its fifth year. Helping Hands partners with Goodwill, A Father’s Place, and Friendship place to provide a premier employment skills training program dedicated to empowering our members to master skills that will get them noticed and keep them employed.

We are excited about 2021 and beyond. We are excited about our goals and the possibilities that lay ahead. Our desire is to surpass all our goals and set a new standard in the quality in the graduates we produce.

In 2020 we learned not to be rigid in our plans. We saw all of our stakeholders including those we have helped get employed affected by the events of 2020. Our team learned how to be flexible and learned better ways to navigate the possibilities in providing our employment skills training virtually. We could not have done this without the many professionals our team networked with around the world. We used their expertise to develop a better and strong program to meet and exceed our stakeholders needs.

We ended the year by doing the non-conventional. Through our networking with Human Resource Officers and Hiring Managers, several industries are asking potential employees to complete our employment skills training before they are hired. We will continue to work on more partnerships like this in our county. Thinking like an employer has served us well in shifting our mindset.
