Thanks to All for an Amazing Event

Many thanks to our guests, sponsors, friends, board members, staff, and volunteers – everyone who helped make our Celebrating the Next Generation: Youth Empowerment Program fundraising party a success!

The purpose was to raise awareness and support for our YEP program. Waccamaw High School senior Carvers Bay High School senior Emalee Walter gave a moving speech during the event, highlighting some of her experiences.

The event raised over $116,000 for YEP. The program serves students in all four high schools throughout the county. Helping Hands’ YEP helps prepare students for life after graduation, by helping them identify a career path to success, whether it be service in the military, gainful employment in the community, or matriculation within a two or four year college. Career coaches from YEP meet weekly with students at each school, and coordinate monthly events, along with a transformative, intensive week-long Outward Bound experience in the Florida Everglades.

The venue, the Reserve Harbor at Pawleys Island, was a beautiful location; guests were treated to great music by the Jesse Wilson Jazz Trio; the food was divine; and the weather was perfect for the occasion.

We are especially grateful to our many sponsors along with our hardworking Fundraising Committee.
