Thanksgiving Preparations

Good Friday the 13th Everyone,

I hope that each of you are doing well and have a nice weekend planned. I am calling ALL volunteers available for next week. **Advisory Council…if you could please mention at church services this weekend that would be great! Any amount of time will be appreciated as we are down to the last week and well, the warehouse is crazy full! We need your help, please!

Here is my plan of action for next week in Georgetown…

Monday 8am to 1pm: We will stock shelves to free up floor space from USDA/Lowcountry Food Bank delivery last week but we also have tons of food to be weighed, checked and sorted. We also have a delivery coming in from Waccamaw High School. Ed McNulty will be picking up about 9am and bringing it over. This will need to be unloaded and then all the usual…weighed, checked and sorted.

Tuesday 8am to 12pm: We will continue to weigh, check and sort food. We will begin to set up the floor for packing bags, if we have made room.

Wednesday 8am to 12pm: Mostly the same as Tuesday. We will continue to weigh, check and sort food. We will begin to set up the floor for packing bags just like an assembly line.

Thursday 8am to 12pm: We will continue to weigh, check and sort as needed but we will have final prep for packing bags set up and ready to go after lunch.

*Thursday at 1pm: We will begin to package bags and deliver to Greater St. Stephens AME Church. I would like to get 200 bags packaged and delivered Thursday.

*Friday at 9am: We will continue to package the remaining 200 bags and deliver to Greater St. Stephens AME Church.

**Distribution is set for Tuesday, November 24th beginning at 9am through 12pm at Greater St. Stephens AME Church. I am sure we will have cars lined up by 7am. If you would like to volunteer, we would love to have you. Please be there by 8:30 for an assigned task. I will ask about parking for our volunteers and let you know something next week. We have the City of Georgetown Police Department lined up for traffic flow but want to make sure we have parking for everyone helping.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Our community has come through in a time of need especially after this crazy year of 2020. I am so very thankful for all the hard work that has already taken place, the giving in our community through time, food and money, volunteer hours not just here but at our churches, organizations and businesses and will be grateful for what is to come over the next 2 weeks.

Blessings during this holiday season…I am THANKFUL for each of you!

Tracy
